Now that it’s time to get in the Christmas spirit, the legendary Oak Ridge Boys - Duane Allen, Joe Bonsall, William Lee Golden and Richard Sterban - are leading the way with a new Christmas cd, a television special and a new edition of their annual Christmas tour.

AN INCONVENIENT CHRISTMAS, a collection of contemporary, traditional, romantic, religious, serious and fun holiday tunes, has just been released by Spring Hill Music. Produced by Oaks lead singer Duane Allen and Michael Sykes, the cd features traditional tunes such as “Winter Wonderland” and “The Hallelujah Chorus,” as well as new classics including “I Pray On Christmas,” written by Harry Connick, Jr.

of a new Christmas CD a reality. Pictured here with the Oaks are

The cd’s first single, “The Most Inconvenient Christmas,” is a high-energy yet thought-provoking tune that reminds us that no matter how stressful things might be during the holiday season - such as a snowstorm that blocks the roads and knocks out the power - the most inconvenient Christmas that ever was was actually the first one.  Joe Bonsall’s powerful tenor captures the tune's light-hearted spirit while at the same time brings us the realization that no matter how much we might be inconvenienced by bad weather, holiday parties or returning silly gifts, we were blessed by a young woman named Mary during the first Christmas.

The Oaks also celebrate the holiday season with a television special and have chosen Feed The Children as their charity of choice. “The Oak Ridge Boys’ Inconvenient Christmas,” produced and directed by the award-winning Sherman Halsey, was taped at Branson’s Grand Palace and brings the Oaks’ Christmas tour to fans nationwide. Co-produced by The Halsey Company and The Oak Ridge Boys, the special features The Platters as special guests. In addition, members of the Oak Ridge Boys' families make cameo appearances. “The Oak Ridge Boys’ Inconvenient Christmas” will be appearing on various cable outlets throughout the season. The Oaks kick off their annual Christmas tour on November 29 in Dayton, OH. With a new set and music from their new Christmas cd, The Oak Ridge Boys bring holiday cheer to 13 cities. Along with selections from AN INCONVENIENT CHRISTMAS, the award-winning vocal group will perform Christmas favorites including “Happy Christmas Eve” and “Jesus Was Born Today” as well as holiday standards such as “White Christmas,” “Silver Bells” and more.
