Homemade Biscuits with Crème Fraîche Butter & Select Strawberry Preserves

May 27 | Posted by: Oak Ridge Boys

These biscuits are a little bit country and a little bit rock ‘n roll. We like to call them “country gourmet.” But, no matter what you call them, they’re easy and delicious! And, if we do say so ourselves, our FavoriteTM Southern Style Select Strawberry Preserves are the best

For Biscuits:
2 cups self-rising flour
2/3 cup shortening
1 cup milk
For Crème Fraîche Butter:
1 cup real butter, slightly softened
1 cup crème fraiche
1 cup The Oak Ridge Boys FavoriteTM Southern Style Select Strawberry Preserves
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
In a large bowl, mix together self-rising flour, shortening, and milk. Generously sprinkle a cutting board with additional flour. Place dough on board and knead until slightly firm. Roll the dough to about one-inch thick and cut into circles. Place each dough circle onto a greased baking sheet, leaving about an inch between them, and bake until golden brown.
While the biscuits are baking, combine the crème fraîche and butter. Open a jar of The Oak Ridge Boys FavoriteTM Southern Style Strawberry Preserves. Serve each hot, sliced biscuit with a generous helping of Crème Fraîche Butter and top with preserves.
